What’s new in ISO 37001:2025

What has changed from the previous version and needs attention in implementation?

ISO 37001:2025 is the latest version of the anti-bribery management system requirements. Changes from the previous version should be considered for implementation and audit purposes.

There are changes and additions to new requirements, including terminology. While there are not many significant changes to operational controls, these changes need to be addressed for effective implementation of ISO 37001:2025.

Summary of key changes in ISO 37001:2025

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 37001:2016), which has been revised.

The main changes are as follows:

  1. Subclauses added or changed about:
    • Addition of Climate Change Requirements
    • Addition of emphasizing the importance of a Compliance Culture
    • Addition of planning changes to the anti-bribery management system
    • Addition of a subclause to “Awareness”
    • Addition of a subclause to “Internal Audit”
    • Changes in the subclause on “Management Review”
    • Change in the order of the subclause on “Improvement“
    • Change in requirement for “Stakeholders” become “ Interested Parties”
    • Change in “ Anti-Bribery Compliance Function” become “Anti-bribery Function”
  2. Updated Terms and Definitions
  3. Changes in requirements (mainly minor changes)
  4. Updated in Annex

The main clauses of ISO 37001:2025 is remaining similar to previous version by following ISO/IEC Annex SL 2012  High Level Structure.
